SAPP - Stand Alone Parent Program Certificate of completion award earned by completing a KBOR-designated stand-alone parent program. A stand-alone parent program:
- is less than 16 credit hours,
- is not associated with another program of 16+ credit hours and
- (generally) leads to an industry recognized credential, license, or certification.
Cert A - Postsecondary Technical Certificate A - Requires completion of an organized program of study in a technical area of at least 16 but less than 29 credit hours in length, at the postsecondary level (below the baccalaureate degree).
Cert B - Postsecondary Technical Certificate B - Requires completion of an organized program of study in a technical area of at least 30 but less than 44 credit hours in length, at the postsecondary level (below the baccalaureate degree).
Cert C - Postsecondary Technical Certificate C - Requires completion of an organized program of study in a technical area of at least 45 but less than 59 credit hours in length, (a maximum of 48 credit hours is encouraged) at the postsecondary level (below the baccalaureate degree).
ASSOC - Associate of Applied Science degree - An award that normally requires at least two years but less than four years of full-time equivalent college work with at least 15 credits of required general education course credits.
The Board of Regents currently recognizes these four award levels for AAS programs.
