Aviation Maintenance Update - Tuesday, February 02, 2010

KBOR staff met with business and industry representatives to identify the skill needs of Aviation Maintenance mechanics. This program is closely driven by FAA rules, regulations and oversight. With further reflection, the Regents staff recommends that Phase II of the alignment process will add very little or no value to the technical program delivery.  The program alignment process is designed to align programs at technical  and community colleges around the state offering different curriculum to reach standard industry credentials. Because this program resides solely at Wichita Area Technical College, and because there can be no deviation in course offerings pursuant to FAA regulations, alignment work in Aviation Maintenance is complete.
